Federal Office of Administration (Hamm 2)

The Federal Office of Administration, Hamm 2 site, is a central institution of the German administration and plays a key role in the implementation of administrative tasks at federal level. The site is located in Hamm, North Rhine-Westphalia, and is specially designed to meet the requirements of a modern and secure administration. Numerous tasks in the area of public administration are processed here, which require efficient and reliable implementation at the highest level. at the highest level. The site is characterized by a high level of networking, modern infrastructure and a strong security concept to ensure the smooth running of administrative processes.

Requirements

An access control system is required for the Hamm 2 site of the Federal Office of Administration in order to ensure the protection of important data and the secure execution of administrative tasks. The solution must meet the requirements of a modern administrative facility and offer both ease of use and high security standards. All office doors require an electronic locking system. The system should be flexible and expandable in order to easily implement future changes in security requirements and administration. Intercom stations are required at the access doors, which can be used both centrally and at a separate control point at another location. Data management should be connected to the existing systems and controlled centrally.

Solution

The access control system at the Hamm 2 site of the Federal Office of Administration was designed to meet the high security requirements and enable efficient management of access authorizations. The system was flexibly adapted to the specific needs of the site and ensures easy handling of access rights. To increase security, an additional layer of protection has been introduced to effectively prevent unauthorized access. All data is updated in real time to ensure complete traceability of access attempts and further improve security. In addition, a solution has been integrated that strengthens the protection of sensitive information and ensures that only authorized persons are granted access. Advanced security measures have been implemented to secure communication between the various components of the system.

With this solution, a future-proof and scalable access control system was created that guarantees both the highest security standards and user-friendly handling for the Hamm 2 site. All requirements were successfully met and combined in a well thought-out solution.

19" L2/L3 switch with management, 24 ports PoE +, DMS
This layer 2/3 switch with extensive L3 functions was specially developed for applications with a high data load, such as video over IP, video streaming also in conjunction with multicast. The PoE allows IP cameras to be powered via the data cable. With the extensive management options, even complex network requirements can be fulfilled. Special features for access control Active monitoring of the components Components powered by the switch via PoE are constantly monitored. In the event of a failure, the switch restarts the controllers independently . If this is not successful, the switch sends an alarm message via SNMP. Active monitoring of the PoE power supply If, for example, too much power is required from the switch due to a defective camera, the switch sends an alarm via SNMP. Active management of the PoE power When the switch is started up, the individual PoE ports can be started up with a time delay to prevent the PoE power supply from being overloaded . Further component-friendly features Extra high backplane performance for smooth transmission with full port utilisation. Jumbo frames up to 9600 bytes are also supported at 100 Mbit/s . Port security through MAC address restriction. DMS DMS (Device Management System)The switch has an integrated network monitoring and control system, which gives the user a good overview of the entire network in a very simple way. This DMS system has the following features: Graphical network overview The network topology view provides a quick overview of all switches and end devices in the network, such as IP cameras or servers, with details of the IP address, device type and name. Maps and maps can be stored as background images, allowing the user to quickly access specific network devices even without knowledge of the IP structure, Device search This function makes it possible to access a specific device even in larger networks. Newly added devices, such as a replaced IP camera, are displayed immediately and allow the user immediate access without knowledge of the IP address. Data traffic display The data traffic can be displayed graphically per port over a time axis. Error handling and security Network diagnostics between master switch and connected end devices. Protection mechanisms such as data rate limiting allow effective protection against unwanted access. With IEEE802.3ah and IEEE802.1ag, tools are available for structuring networks. Entry - Intercom station/door station plastic, surface mounting
Product info - Entry is a door intercom for use as a standalone device or in conjunction with Paxton's Net2 and Paxton10 access control solutions. A robust external door station for use with the Entry intercom. Available in industry standard anthracite grey (RAL7016) to blend in with the design of windows and doors in many new builds and modern homes. All Entry door stations are IPX5 certified and therefore suitable for external use in all weather conditions.Installation - Entry components can be easily connected using Cat5 or standard RJ45 patch cables. Entry can also utilise an existing network infrastructure for easy installation. As power and data are supplied via PoE over the same cable, a separate power supply is not required. With this door station model for surface mounting, the device is mounted directly on the wall surface and is therefore 100% accessible. If there are several entrances with a door station, more than one door station can be assigned to an access control unit (ACU).A secondary IP camera can also be installed and integrated into the entry system to provide additional security for areas that are difficult to see. This offers more flexibility, as it is possible to switch back and forth between the two cameras on the Entry Monitor.Operation - A visitor starts a video call via the bell button on the external door station. Access can be authorised for the visitor via the Entry Monitor with its intuitive touchscreen user interface. The internal monitor can be used either via the handset (for private calls) or in hands-free mode. When connected to Net2, access to the building is authorised by entering a PIN or code and/or using a proximity transponder. When connected to Paxton10, access to the building is authorised via Bluetooth® smart credentials, PIN or code entry and/or with a proximity transponder.

Net2 Plus - Door control centre/controller with PoE+-EV in plastic housing
Info - Net2 Plus is a network-based access control system. Such a system offers the possibility of centralised management, event notification and flexible control over user access authorisations. Each door control centre is part of the network, but can also work independently. It makes its own decisions and saves events. The Net2 Plus door control centre is connected to the management computer with an RJ45 plug via a normal TCP/IP network. This greatly increases the flexibility of installation in buildings with LAN/WAN networks. The Net2 Plus door control centre also has an RS485 connection. This allows it to be connected to other Net2 Plus or Net2 Classic door control units via a CAT5 cable.A Net2 Plus door control unit can also act as an interface to a LAN for an RS485 connection (daisy chain) of other Net2 Plus or Net2 Classic door control units so that they no longer require a TCP/IP interface.Door control units are sold as an assembly, in a plastic housing or with a 2 A power supply in a plastic housing.

The monitor is suitable for wall mounting or for mounting in a table stand (available separately) and is available with or without handset.Installation - The components are simply connected to each other using Cat5 or standard RJ45 patch cables. An existing network infrastructure can also be used for easy installation of Entry. An existing network infrastructure can also be used for easy installation of Entry. With PoE technology, power and data are supplied via the same cable, so no separate power supply is required. The Entry monitor - desk stand allows the Entry monitor to be conveniently positioned on a desk or table.Operation - A visitor starts a video call via the bell button on the external door station. Access can then be authorised for the visitor via the monitor with its intuitive touchscreen user interface. The monitor can be used in the interior either with a handset (for private calls) or in hands-free mode. When connected to Net2, access to the building is authorised by entering a PIN or code and/or using a proximity transponder. When connected to Paxton10, access to the building is authorised via Bluetooth® smart credentials, PIN or code entry and/or with a proximity transponder.
