Ludwigsburg Fertility Center Dr. Ott

The Dr. Ott Fertility Center in Ludwigsburg offers medical support for couples who are unable to conceive. It encompasses various diagnostic and therapeutic methods of reproductive medicine, including hormonal treatments, insemination, and procedures such as IVF and ICSI. An interdisciplinary team of physicians and specialists supports the process, based on the latest scientific findings and the highest technical standards.

Requirements

For access control in the new building, the existing, 15-year-old Paxton system must be retained and expanded with new Paxton controllers. The system should enable centralized management of access rights for various user groups such as tenants, employees, and visitors. Flexible customization options for individual access times and authorizations are also required. System security must be ensured through encrypted data transmission and high reliability.

Since the building is used by multiple tenants, a flexible intercom system with a concierge function is required. This must enable centralized access control and ensure direct communication between visitors and the respective tenants. The system should be flexibly configurable to meet the diverse needs of the tenants and support efficient management of visitor flows.

For the smooth operation of the access control and intercom system, specific network requirements must also be met. PoE (Power over Ethernet) management must be integrated to reliably supply the connected devices with power and enable centralized control. The network must support the latest security features. Particularly important is stable and high-performance distribution of audio and video data, ensuring smooth, uninterrupted video and absolute lip synchronization.

Solution

Paxton products, characterized by their long-term backward compatibility, were used for access control and the intercom system in the new building. This allowed the existing 15-year-old Paxton system to be seamlessly integrated and expanded with modern Paxton controllers. This combination enables centralized management of access rights for tenants, employees, and visitors, as well as flexible adjustment of access times and authorizations without having to abandon existing structures.

Touch intercoms with tenant images were used outside to ensure intuitive operation and quick identification of tenants. The particularly compact P38 readers, measuring just 3.8 cm wide, were installed for the thin frame doors to enable space-saving and unobtrusive integration.

The network was implemented with Barox switches, which offer PoE management for reliable power supply to all components. To ensure high reliability, the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) was also implemented to avoid network loops and maximize system stability. This network technology ensures that if a network path fails, alternative routes are automatically used without affecting system functionality.

Audio and video distribution is smooth and absolutely lip-synchronized thanks to a perfectly coordinated Quality of Service (QoS) system. The optimized QoS ensures the prioritization of audio and video traffic, enabling stable and delay-free communication between visitors and tenants. At the same time, the QoS system ensures that other data streams do not interfere with real-time audio and video streaming, thus ensuring consistently high communication quality.

Conclusion

The combination of proven Paxton technology, modern network components, and optimized audio and video quality creates a powerful and fail-safe solution. The integration of PoE management and the Spanning Tree Protocol ensures high stability and availability. The flexible intercom system and intelligent access control provide a future-proof infrastructure that meets the needs of a modern building.

19" L2/L3 switch with management, 24 ports PoE +, DMS
This layer 2/3 switch with extensive L3 functions was specially developed for applications with a high data load, such as video over IP, video streaming also in conjunction with multicast. The PoE allows IP cameras to be powered via the data cable. With the extensive management options, even complex network requirements can be fulfilled. Special features for access control Active monitoring of the components Components powered by the switch via PoE are constantly monitored. In the event of a failure, the switch restarts the controllers independently . If this is not successful, the switch sends an alarm message via SNMP. Active monitoring of the PoE power supply If, for example, too much power is required from the switch due to a defective camera, the switch sends an alarm via SNMP. Active management of the PoE power When the switch is started up, the individual PoE ports can be started up with a time delay to prevent the PoE power supply from being overloaded . Further component-friendly features Extra high backplane performance for smooth transmission with full port utilisation. Jumbo frames up to 9600 bytes are also supported at 100 Mbit/s . Port security through MAC address restriction. DMS DMS (Device Management System)The switch has an integrated network monitoring and control system, which gives the user a good overview of the entire network in a very simple way. This DMS system has the following features: Graphical network overview The network topology view provides a quick overview of all switches and end devices in the network, such as IP cameras or servers, with details of the IP address, device type and name. Maps and maps can be stored as background images, allowing the user to quickly access specific network devices even without knowledge of the IP structure, Device search This function makes it possible to access a specific device even in larger networks. Newly added devices, such as a replaced IP camera, are displayed immediately and allow the user immediate access without knowledge of the IP address. Data traffic display The data traffic can be displayed graphically per port over a time axis. Error handling and security Network diagnostics between master switch and connected end devices. Protection mechanisms such as data rate limiting allow effective protection against unwanted access. With IEEE802.3ah and IEEE802.1ag, tools are available for structuring networks. Net2 Plus - Door control centre/controller in Ku housing
About - Net2 Plus is a network-based access control system. Such a system offers the possibility of centralised management, event notification and flexible control of user access authorisations. Each door control centre is part of the network, but can also work independently. It makes its own decisions and saves events. The Net2 Plus door control centre is connected to the management computer with an RJ45 plug via a normal TCP/IP network. This greatly increases the flexibility of installation in buildings with LAN/WAN networks. The Net2 Plus door control centre also has an RS485 connection. This allows it to be connected to other Net2 Plus or Net2 Classic door control units via a CAT5 cable.A Net2 Plus door control unit can also act as an interface to a LAN for an RS485 connection (daisy chain) of other Net2 Plus or Net2 Classic door control units so that they no longer require a TCP/IP interface.Door control units are sold as an assembly, in a plastic housing or with a 2 A power supply in a plastic housing. Installation - There is a label on the Net2 Plus door control unit that clearly shows the colour-coded connections for reader, power supply, etc. The door control centre has a relay with potential-free contacts and can therefore control electric strikes or other opening drives. Door and tamper contacts, exit buttons and local alarm devices can also be connected.Door control centres communicate with the PC via the standard TCP/IP protocol of a LAN network. The Net2 Plus door control centre should be assigned a fixed IP address. All settings are made in the Net2 Configuration Utility. The corresponding connections are equipped with diagnostic LEDs, which are helpful for a trouble-free installation. Terminal resistors can be switched on or off as required. External terminal resistors are not required.Operation - All changes entered in the PC are immediately transmitted to the door control centre and stored there. When a user presents a transponder to a reader, the user is identified by the door control centre and access is granted or denied as appropriate.
