Product information "Proximity reader MIFARE®, P50"
Info - The Info-P series readers are suitable for Switch2 and Net2 systems. The readers are only supplied with a dark-coloured cover cap. Caps in other colours are available. These and replacement caps are available free of charge to registered installers of Paxton systems. The P-Series readers are available in four sizes.
Installation - The reader connection cable is connected to the door control unit according to the colour coding. Installation is simple and can be carried out accurately.
Operation - A transponder is held in the area of the reading distance. The reader forwards the read information to the door control unit. If the transponder is recognised as authorised, the green LED flashes and access is granted. The red LED flashes and access is denied if the transponder is invalid.
Our P50 Mifare readers are now equipped with Genuine HID Technology®. When licensed with an activation card, the readers can read HID 125kHz proximity transponders. If required, these readers can also be activated for a Wiegand output via a separate activation card.

Info - CARDLOCK readers are used in Switch2 and Net2 systems.Installation - The reader connection cable is connected in accordance with the labelling on the door control unit.Operation - A card is swiped through the reader. The reader forwards the read information to the door control centre. If the card is recognised as authorised, access is granted. Access is denied if the card is invalid.Note: This reader is suitable as a supplement or replacement within an existing standalone system. It is not possible to set up a new standalone system with this reader, as the Cardlock starter packs are no longer available.
Info - The desktop reader is set up next to the PC. It is used to read transponders into a Net2 system and to identify transponders that have been found. Installation - Simply connect the reader to a USB port. No further cabling is required. Additional workstations can also be equipped with desktop readers.Operation - An uncoded transponder is applied to the desktop reader. This creates a new user file and the transponder number is automatically entered. The user details are entered into the file and the transponder is then issued to the user.If a transponder that has already been issued is applied to the desktop reader, the corresponding user file appears.

Info - "Hands-free access control" means that the transponder used for personal identification can be read from a pocket or handbag. You do not need to hold it in your hand. This is particularly useful for gates and barriers and to make access easier for disabled or elderly people. The hands-free interface in combination with hands-free transponders achieves this by utilising its radio technology from Paxton Access. Installation - Any P-Series reader or KP-Series reader with keypad can be set up for Handsfree operation by installing the Handsfree Interface. The interface requires no power supply and is wired serially between the reader and the door control centre. The interface should be installed as close as possible to the reader, although it can be a maximum of 15 metres away from it. Operation - Once the interface has been installed, 'handsfree' transponders have a range of 0.85 to 2.5 metres. The reader can continue to read normal proximity transponders as usual. If the long reading range causes problems (e.g. unintended opening when people walk past the door), an entry confirmation button can be installed. This can be any button with a closing contact. The door is only released after the button is pressed.
