Product information "Proximity reader - VP"
Info - The PROXIMITY vandal-resistant reader is suitable for Switch2 and Net2 systems. It is suitable for in-the-wall installation, i.e. it is mounted in wall holes. It is therefore not accessible from the outside. This type of installation is particularly suitable for areas at risk of vandalism. Cover caps in black only are included in the scope of delivery. Cover caps in a range of colours are available free of charge for registered installers.
The majority of our Paxton readers are now equipped with Genuine HID Technology™. The readers can read HID™ 125 kHz proximity transponders when licensed with an activation card. If required, these readers can be activated for a Wiegand output via a separate activation card.
Installation - The connection cable of the reader is connected to the door control unit according to the colour marking. The reader is inserted into a 20 mm diameter hole. The cover cap is then fitted and serves as a marker. This reader is not suitable for installation in metal. The illustrations below show various types of installation.
Operation - A transponder is held in the area of the reading distance. The reader forwards the read information to the door control centre. If the transponder is recognised as authorised, access is granted. Access is denied if the transponder is invalid.
